Every once in a while I read a book that
takes me on an emotional journey that leaves me in awe. This unique story
was created to take me on that journey. There are not enough words to express
how I feel about this book. I don't think 5 stars is enough and that it
could do it justice. It's an unforgettable story that deals with raw
emotions.
It's about Evan, whose ex-girlfriend
becomes pregnant but doesn't want anything to do with being a mother.
Without hesitation, Evan decides he wants to be a single dad, he did what
he did out of love for his unborn daughter, and it’s remarkable. He's a
compassionate, strong and a very determined man. You can't help but love
Evan, he's like no other character I've read before. He does have a
strong support system from his best friend, Aaron and sister McKinley.
McKinley falls in love right away with
that sweet little girl. Evan and McKinley start to have feelings that
surpasses the friendship zone. She engages herself to help Evan out in
his time of need. But Evans past is coming back and threatens is future
with his daughter, Lexi. McKinley makes him an offer he can't and won't
refuse. They are in love but none wants to act on it. I really
loved these characters together, they have a great connection and some
chemistry.
These are regular people who've had a
great life so far and want to instil the same in their children. Evan and
McKinley are great characters that distinguished themselves and are in a
category of their own.
This story is about falling in love,
loving ones child even though she didn't give birth, stepping up and taking
responsibility, family, parenting and long lasting friendship. It had the
right amount of angst and drama to keep me entertained and to keep me wanting
to turn every wonderful page. It's a heartbreaking as well as a heartwarming
uplifting tale of selfless love. I felt this book like it was playing in
my head and I like books that can achieve that. It takes a special kind
of writing for that to happen to me.
It's a standalone novel, told in dual POV
and as an amazing HEA. It's well written with an original story line that was
well thought out. I've read most of this author's books so far and they
are well worth the reader’s time and money. I strongly recommend the
reading of this emotional book. The readers will not be disappointed in
the least.
