Evelyn
I pray to be forgiven for my sins, but the prayers of someone like me won't dare breach the edge of heaven.
Sins. All sins are equal in the eyes of God, but I'm not God. Some sins are far more wretched than others. And those sinners should pay, Evelyn. One sinner made me his sin, and I can't let men like him live. They must face their judgement, Evelyn. I want to kill them. Every. Last. One.
Ezra James is no different, and I wanted to kill him, I needed to kill him, I'm was going to kill him...And then I found myself fascinated by him, obsessed and possessed in the most reverent of ways. I became his sinner, and he became my sin, but the wages of sin is death, so I must kill him.
Ezra
The son of a whore, raised by gangsters, moulded into a key player in a corrupt world ruled by money and completely without morals.
This world can break a person. I’ve seen it time and time again. I never gave a shit, until the night I watched a man drop dead at the feet of a woman so broken she made even me feel whole. My little killer called to my depravity and everything in me demanded that I take her, possess her, own her.
Some monsters hide behind the faces of angels, where others stand in plain sight.
Damned. Broken. Irredeemable.
Through blood, absolution shall be found.

I think after going through what I did
with these two authors when they wrote the Wrong series, I’ve been desensitized
to things that might make others cringe. Because while others were reading this
going “what the heck did I just read?” I’m sitting over here going, “When do I
get to read more of this again?”
Obviously the therapy I was supposed to
get after Wrath didn’t work.
Or these two authors are just really
great at what they do. You know, either way.
This book is extremely hard to review
because there is just so much that takes place. A lot of which has to do with
the progression of the characters and their story and giving away one thing
would be giving away a lot of it. I will say that this is not a book for the
faint of heart. It’s a dark book. It’s not a “safe” book but it is a book that
will keep you guessing and even at times on the edge of your seat wondering
just how all of this is going to play out.
This book had a movie feel to it, that’s
how well it read. Where I had to walk away while reading Wrath because there
were elements that became much too real to me while reading, I didn’t have that
here. I felt like I was sitting and watching the most twisted horrific thriller
brought to life.
This read quick. It flowed extremely well
from one point of view to the next and I enjoyed being in both of their heads,
even at their most twisted. And I’m probably going to hell for saying it, but
those two characters, I understood them. There were things about the both of
them that came across very, very realistically. Their rawness, their darkness,
their needs and the twisted way they needed to fulfill them. I got all of it
and if that makes me as screwed up as Ezra and Evie, so be it.
I don’t entirely agree with their methods
and most definitely wouldn’t do a lot of what they both did myself, but why
they were the way they were, what they were ultimately after and what they both
needed, I understood it. They were quite honestly perfect for each other and
their ending, well, I gotta say, that’s not at all how I pictured this one
ending, but for the little killer and her sin, it was perfect.
Anyone who enjoys dark reads, stories
that take you completely out of your comfort zone yet still manage to make you
feel every emotion known to man as you read it, or fans of the authors in
general will love this story and should definitely pick it up.
Just be prepared to be taken on one hell
of a dark and deviant ride.
My thanks to the authors and all others
involved in letting me read this before official release. I enjoyed it
immensely and I can’t wait to see where your twisted minds take us next.
