Seeing Evan again is
taking a toll on me, I can’t sleep and my mind is in a constant state of
turmoil. I wake up in the middle of the night from dreams of us. The memories
of him, of us are too much. Some memories have the ability to heal. The ability
to light up the dark because the beauty of the memory is so bright you’re still
able to bask in it.
But the memories of
us are killing me slowly. They remind me that for one moment I had everything

I have to admit,
based on the way this story started, I was expecting one hell of a dramatic
ride and with the last few reads I’ve had, I wasn’t exactly sure how up to the
task I was going to be.
As it turns out,
looks, at least in the beginning can be deceiving because this book turned out
to be just what the doctor ordered for me today. So enthralled was I with the
writing style, the ease at which it flowed and the characters and story
presented throughout that it became a book I couldn’t put down. One that I
devoured in a couple of hours.
This is not my first
rodeo with this author, but it is my first go round with this series, having
not read the first story. But where that could have been a problem, given the
lack of connection to previous characters, it wasn’t. I felt bonded not only to
the two from the previous book, but all the other people (June’s family and
Evan’s brothers) that played their parts here.
Family dynamics
always seem to get me when I’m reading books lately and this one did not scrimp
on that. It was thick with the family ties and connections. With the love. I
enjoyed that almost as much as I did watching these two beautiful people come
back together again.
I’m a sucker for a
good second chance romance after all.
And this story
delivered on that, and in such a way that it wasn’t too driven by unnecessary
drama or things designed to keep them apart for too long. Everything that
happened seeming almost organic in the way it came across and the love between
the two of them (not to mention the passion) was clearly evident to anyone with
a pair of eyes.
It wasn’t an easy ride
though, my heart catching at one point and making me fear for turned out to be
a pretty beautiful ending, but again, it wasn’t something drawn out more than
it had to be. By the time I turned the last page, I had gotten everything I
wanted with this couple and more. Even having a few laughs along the way.
If you’re looking for
a book with just the right touch of drama, but heavy on the love and passion,
and you’re a fan of second chance romances and ones especially that center
around a really great family, look no further. I think you’ll find what you’re
looking for here.
And on a side note…Alpha
males usually aren’t my thing (I don’t actively search them out), but here, it
just plain works and the laughs it brought about, just about made my night. So
thanks for that author lady. You made a believer out of me.

release. June and Evan’s journey to happily ever after is one that will remain
with me long after the last page is turned.
