Lauren Layne brings
all the unpredictable heat of her USA Today bestseller Blurred
Lines to an all-new cast of characters! Country music’s favorite good girl
is hiding away from the world—only to find herself bunking with a guy who makes
her want to be a little bad.
Jenny Dawson moved to Nashville to write music, not get famous. But when her latest record goes double platinum, Jenny’s suddenly one of the town’s biggest stars—and the center of a tabloid scandal connecting her with a pop star she’s barely even met. With paparazzi tracking her every move, Jenny flees to a remote mansion in Louisiana to write her next album. The only hiccup is the unexpected presence of a brooding young caretaker named Noah, whose foul mouth and snap judgments lead to constant bickering—and serious heat.
Noah really should tell Jenny that he’s Preston Noah Maxwell Walcott, the owner of the estate where the feisty country singer has made her spoiled self at home. But the charade gives Noah a much-needed break from his own troubles, and before long, their verbal sparring is indistinguishable from foreplay. But as sizzling nights give way to quiet pillow talk, Noah begins to realize that Jenny’s almost as complicated as he is. To fit into each other’s lives, they’ll need the courage to face their problems together—before the outside world catches up to them.

I've read a few books
written by Lauren Layne that were amazing, so imagine my pleasure to get the
chance to review one of hers.
ARC of Good Girl by
Lauren Layne provided by LoveSwept through NetGalley in exchange of an honest
spoiler free review.
Initially when I
started reading this book, I was somewhat disappointed that I was reading a
story about a singer with some Hollywood drama, which I personally don't enjoy
reading. Once I got to the second chapter which was Noah's POV, I quickly
figured out that I was wrong in every way. I knew then that this would be an
amazing story that I would enjoy. Lauren did deliver a fantastic 5 star story.
Jenny is a country singer
that goes into hiding after being caught in the middle of a scandal where she
finds herself an unwilling participant. She escapes to get some much deserved
time for herself. She goes to Louisiana, in the middle of nowhere but gets
stuck with the "caretaker ", Noah. He's also taking some time off
from his everyday life to figure out what he wants for his future. He's also
hiding from some of his mistakes. They thought they would get some time to
themselves not be at each other's throats.
This story has
everything I enjoy in a book. A sassy, strong and doesn't take any crap from
Noah, heroine. A broody, foul mouthed, alpha male to go with that. The
bantering between these 2 was so funny that it made me laugh out loud quite a
few times. The hot chemistry between these 2 would explode in some fireworks.
It's not an overly
heartbreaking, dramatic story, it has the right amount to keep it a great page
turner. Characters that were perfectly created to fit this kind of storyline. I
must mention Dolly and Ranger their 2 dogs that had their own funny thing going
on.
Warning, this story
is highly addictive that I didn't have a choice but to read it in a day. When I
would put it down, I was drawn to want to continue to read it. Great plot with
a seamless storyline. It was an intensely funny love story that was paced just
right.
Standalone told in a
dual POV. Great epilogue to conclude this story. I highly recommend this book
with some scorching hot steamy scenes to go with it. Lauren also has a great
selection of books to choose from.
