I read a lot, mainly
because it's a form of therapy to get lost, if only for a few hours, in
wonderful stories with amazing characters. There are stories that will make me
cry gut wrenching tears, make me feel all kinds of emotions and even get a
intense reaction out of me. There are stories that will move me to the point
that it will stay with me for days after I'm done reading because I just can't
let go. A Beautiful Sin has achieved all that and so much more. I can safely
say that this is a 6 star story and will be one of my top recommendations.
The combination of
Terri E. Laine and A.M.Hargrove is one of the best because they created an
amazing storyline with an unique plot. This story is unlike anything I've ever
read before. Sure I've read stories about a priest falling in love, but they
were not like this at all. This one is sweet, poignant, raw with selfless acts
of plain great humans actions. It's a wonderful love story, it's not crass,
overly sexual or even controversial.
Even thought it's a
fictional novel, there are parts of this story that are real life occurring
events. That's were I get a strong reaction from. It has been known to put everything
I believed in question. Just writing this review brings me to tears and tears
me apart. Although I personally don't have triggers, I admire the authors for
creating this story by not being afraid to speak of those events that happen
every single day.
This story consumed
my heart, mind, body and soul by being HIGHLY addicting, engaging, endearing. I
devoured this story in a matter of hours. I had to take breaks, deep breaths
(blow my nose, lol) but drove back in full force.
I loved the characters
from Canaan, Haven, Macie, Kathy even some of the priests. But Canaan was my
favorite character because he displayed real emotions, a selfless man, naïve,
attentive, sweet and extremely loving person. At first Haven had a chip on her
shoulder toward Canaan but quickly became a strong, fierce, loving survivor of
undesirable circumstances. I basically felt what they were feeling.
I also admire the way
it was written, no details of the events were put down on paper. It was kind of
insinuating, reading between the lines. I don't think I could have stomachache
any descriptive details. There are so many things I want to say about this
story in order to convince you to purchase it. Bottom line I HEART this story.
Standalone written in
a dual POV with an HEA. If you want to read a story that will put you through
THE emotional roller coaster ride of your life, get A Beautiful Sin. I promise
you it's not a controversial story but a beautiful love story. 18 + Possible
triggers for abuse.
