Imagine my excitement
when Katy announced that a new book in the Modern Fairy-tale series was coming
out this soon. I thought after having read Ginger's Heart earlier this year
that I would have to wait a year to read one of her amazingly written stories.
Reading one of her stories is such an enchanting, unique and pleasant
experience. Yes, she does write romance stories but what sets hers apart is
that her characters are flawed, almost human where I get to feel what they are
feeling. Her characters have real life problems, obstacles, physical characteristics
that are considered "imperfect". This is 5 star story. If I shed some
tears while reading a story they deserve all the stars in the sky.

I will keep the
description short because this is such an amazing story that it needs to be
experienced with the element of surprises that come with this journey.
Verity and her
brother Ryan are down on their luck, but then Colton comes along and saves the
day. It's not willingly that he did so, but he just couldn't help himself even
if he wanted to.
It was so perfectly
written with characters that infiltrated themselves in my heart and branded my
soul. Of all the books I've ever read, this one had quite a unique storyline.
The characters were all distinguishable; from Verity who is a strong, selfless
young woman; Ryan with the heart of a child that loved greatly; Colton the
brooding, foul mouthed fearless protector; Melody, Colton's sister that saw the
good in everyone. It's addicting and intriguing because the author was able to
give just enough clues to keep me reading for hours on out. Even if I wanted
this story to go on forever, I was still curious to see the end that made me
smile. There are moments that are so sad, gut wrenching, maddening,
heartbreaking but the author was able to put my heart back in one piece with an
epilogue that was so intensely sweet. Bottom line is I loved everything about
this story.
This is a standalone
told in a dual POV that includes an HEA. None of the stories in the Modern
Fairytale series are related together. I strongly recommend reading this book.
All of Katy's books in this series are well worth the reader’s time and money.
