Some of the most
beautiful blessings come when you least expect them.
And that statement has never been truer than it is with Sian and Luke. Neither of them were prepared for the impact, the real beauty they would bring to each other’s world. Especially considering how neither of them were even looking when it took hold of them and knocked them senseless with it.
This book, as with a lot of this author’s previous works, is full of feeling. With a voice that compares to none, the author has the ability to bring you into these character’s worlds in such a big way that you can’t help but feel for them. Want the best for them. At least that’s how it is and was for me.
My heart broke for Sian and what she lived through and then comes along neighbour Luke, with his own unique story, one rich with pain and heartache but most definitely, like with Sian, feeling. It was very real in the way it was all depicted, like their experiences were these physical things that I could hold in the palm of my hand and experience with them. Their pain, their joy, their love as it happened, all so very raw and exposed and real.
The flow of this novel, it was melodic in the way it all came together. It flowed easily from one paragraph to the next, brought to life with rich visuals that made it damn near impossible to put down once it was started.
I was moved by this book. I was altered by this book. I was forever changed by it. But most of all, I felt as though I captured real love because of what I read in this book. What a beautiful story with an even more powerful message of hope.
I could easily sit here and detail every aspect of this book that I enjoyed, instance by instance, but with a lot of this authors previous works, it needs to be experienced in its purest form and be read instead of told about.
Amanda Dick, you have crafted another beautifully moving masterpiece and I am so honored that I was able to read it before the rest of the world. Sian and Luke’s journey is one I don’t think I’ll ever truly forget or move on from, and really, those are best kind.

About the Author
Amanda Dick is a night-owl, coffee addict, movie buff and music lover. She believes in love at first sight, in women's intuition and in following your heart. She is rather partial to dark chocolate and believes in the power of a good vanilla latte.
What lights her fire
is writing stories about real people in trying situations. Her passion is
finding characters who are forced to test their boundaries. She is insanely
curious about how we, as human beings, react when pushed to the edge. Most of
all, she enjoys writing about human behaviour - love, loss, joy, grief,
friendship and the complexity of relationships in general.
After living in
Scotland for five years, she has now settled back home in New Zealand, where
she lives with her husband and two children.
