True Blue is one of
those stories that once I saw the cover and read the blurb, I needed to read it
badly. I know I should never judge a book by it's cover but I'm a sucker for a
tattooed man holding a baby. The author made this enticing and inviting in
wanting me to read this story. But what's between the pages is something else.
Beautifully written , words that seeped through the pages and latched
themselves to my heart, mind, body and soul. A wonderful 5 star story.
I don't want to say
too much on what kind of story this is because there are so many topics,
surprises in this story. It does involve a man just freshly out of prison who
finds himself having to do the right thing. Takes great responsibly in taking
care and loving his siblings. A woman who has been through some difficult times
of her own. As they come together, they complete what each other are missing in
a beautiful way.
I read this story
basically in a day because once I started reading it, I just couldn't seem to
want to stay away from it for very long. It flowed so well that I was stuck
knee deep in the heart of this plot. There was a lot going on but not once did
I feel crowded with events. It was not an overly sad story, there were some
moments. But it was mostly about good people that found themselves in
unfortunate situations that were beyond their controls. Selfless characters
that put others needs before their own. A story of hope, family values and a
lot of love. These characters were perfectly crafted and made for each other.
Secondary characters were as equally important in order to make this story a
success. I love stories that involve children, they make them so much sweeter.
Standalone with an
amazing HEA. I strongly recommend this story. I can't wait for Bear's story in
Wild Whiskey Nights.
