Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward, comes a sexy, STANDALONE
second-chance romance.

They called him Mack
Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the
nickname. Perfect, right?
So was he: perfect.
The perfect physical male specimen.
At the private school
where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.
Everyone wanted a
piece of the hot single father of the sweet little boy.
I was riddled with
jealousy, because they didn’t know that—to me—he was much more.
They didn’t know
about our past.
He’d chosen my school
for his son on purpose, because Mack and I, we had unfinished business.
As my friend Lorelai
so eloquently put it: “Unfinished business between two people who are clearly
attracted to each other is like an eternal case of blue balls.” And I was
suffering in pain from my case.
I was still
intensely attracted to Mack. I tried to resist him, immersing myself further
into a relationship with another man just to protect my heart.
Not to mention,
getting involved with a parent was strictly against school rules. But seeing
Mack day in and day out was breaking me down.
And soon I might be
breaking all the rules.
Author's note – Told
in alternating points of view, Mack Daddy is a full-length standalone novel.

Title: Mack Daddy

Author: Penelope Ward
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series or Standalone: Standalone

Reviewer: Melyssa
I’m a sucker for a
single dad story. Sucker for a story regarding a father in general. I like
seeing these loving and caring men, standing up and being the best damn person
they can be for the sake of their offspring. Add in the fact that on top of a
single dad story, I was getting my other romantic addiction in terms of a
second chance love story and well, I was sold.
I’ve experienced this
author in terms of her co-authoring with other authors, but in terms of
standalone stories by her, in the past I haven’t had the pleasure, but what I
did read, I really did enjoy.
Mack Daddy, aka,
Mackenzie, or Mack for short, I adored him. In flashes of the past with
Frankie, and even throughout their interactions in the present, he was funny,
he was charming, endearing, and god, even at points he was downright
swoon-worthy. As far as male characters go, I enjoyed Mack. Even in this
fictional setting he read very real and I enjoyed that.
Concerns about being
the father that his son deserves, especially with the father he’d been given in
his life, maintaining relationships with the mother of his child despite the
way things ended with them and his very real feelings over the years for
Frankie, it was very organic and he reminded me of a few people I’ve known in
my life in terms of the type of guy he was, and even though the situation he
found himself in wasn’t ideal, there could be no denial of the man or his
feelings and I was in love.
Frankie, I connected
to but not nearly as much as I did with Mack. I enjoyed the quirkiness of her,
the fact that she was different, but the situation relationship wise she was in
when Mack enters her life again and the back and forth she went through when
the way it felt was that the decision was already quite clear, well there just
wasn’t as much connection, but this didn’t take away at all from my enjoyment
of the story.
I think towards the
end, there was a lot of things that happened that came kind of out of left
field and felt like more drama than was already necessary, but were easily
overlooked considering the other factors of the story that I loved. The humor,
the couple themselves when they were together, the steam level, along with the
writing style, it all made for one heck of a story.
I think if you enjoy
this authors work, whether with others or on her own, or like me enjoy stories
of single fathers finding their happily ever afters and getting in quite a few
laughs along the way, you’ll enjoy this as much if not more than I did.
My thanks to the
author and all others involved for letting me read this story before it’s
official release. Frankie and Mack’s journey was one that I’m so glad I was
given the chance to be a part of.
