Those were the lamest words I ever typed in my life, but it was the best I had for the dating app my friend, Violet talked me into joining. I didn’t have any high hopes for myself. As alpha as her heroes can come across sometimes, I still find myself coming back for more.
What I love most about this author is that she doesn't fill the story with useless drama. She keeps it real. And this book is no exception.
I've been waiting for Menace since like, the second book (sorry Tank LOL). There was just something about this single father, that being a single mother, I could feel more than any of the others. I needed to see him reach his happily ever after.
I also have a son that come October, will be 18, funny enough, named Caleb, so again, another selling point. I felt this man and all of his sacrifices in my bones. I needed his happily ever after like I needed my next breath and though I won't give it away, I got what I was after.
I won't give spoilers or even talk about the actual storyline at all, but given the previous books, it fit well, perfectly even and I like the road it took to get to the end. I think this ongoing edge to the story, the subplot apart from the romance even, kept me just as enthralled as the romance itself did.
I wished for more in terms of the subplot at times, I won't lie. I needed things to be exposed so badly it was insane, but I respect the time the author took in giving us this. It could have easily been wrapped up in a few chapters if I'd gotten my way, but it wasn't and it worked.
I'm incredibly happy with Menace's story. It delivered despite the overly high expectation I had (sorry, not sorry author lady) and I'm so incredibly happy I got to read it. That it exists.
This author hasn't failed yet in giving me what I need in terms of a quick, yet fulfilling read, and that is especially true of Menace. I can't imagine going on with this series without this story.

Though, now I wanna see Caleb fall in love too! Call that a mama with a kid that's almost 18 with the same name or what, but it's kismet. It needs to happen. Here's hoping it does.
