This is not the book one can start after
a night shift and read a few pages and expect to go right to sleep. This
is not the book that will take forever to read. This is not the book you
can put down for a lengthy period of time. This is not the book one can
predict what's going to happen. This is not the book one can only give a
5 star rating.
Because 5 stars is not nearly enough.
This book blew me away. It grabbed
my undivided attention from page one to the very last page and I wished it would
still go on. It stripped me bare and moved me emotionally. There
will be so many twists and turns that none of them you will see coming.
Olivia is a school teacher whose devotion
to her students is exceptional. She's smart, shy and sweet but sassy.
She as a big heart and forgives easily. She believes in second
chances. Then Olivia suffers through one of the worst crimes imaginable where
not many people could come out of it unscathed. She is a strong survivor
and fighter. She never gave in to her fears and backed down. I
admire a character (person) that is optimistic, goes for what they want, do not
victimize themselves and that they can find some positive in a bad situation.
Olivia was all that and much more.

Grayson, "Swoon" a police
officer who believes in justice and equal rights. Alpha male all the way
and of course every woman's fantasy. He will fight until the end to right
the wrongs that were done to Olivia. He loves, protects and respects her.
Together they will be strong and prevail and come out victorious. These
are very intense and powerful characters.
I give it an above 6 heartfelt, wonderful
stars. Trust me, I'm not exaggerating. This ARC was provided in
exchange for an honest and spoiler free review. I was honoured to be
able to participate and share this experience with these 2 wonderful authors.
I admire an author who can step out and
write about a controversial topic. It's so much more than a fiction, it
happens every day. Hate against race, religion, gender, sexual
orientation and culture. It's so much more than a book it's a story.
There are no words that would ever do justice to a powerful story like
this and to describe how I feel about it. It's an emotional roller coaster
ride. There will be tears, anger and some heartwarming moments. I sat
there, read for hours on out and devoured each and every word written. It
slipped through my soul and latched on to my heart. It's so much more
than a classic romance, it's a suspenseful, heart wrenching story. I felt
like I was living and feeling through Olivia and Grayson. Very well
written with a great plot and the pacing was just right.
Occasionally you read a book that hits
you like a freight train at full speed, that's exactly what it did to me.
It's one of the most powerful stories I've ever read and trust me I've
read tons of books so far. The duo of these 2 authors together created a
story so deep with a powerful message. It has exceeded my already high
expectations. This is kind of story one will likely never forget. If I'm
asked what book I should recommend for them to read, without a doubt Unlawful
Justice. I very, very, very strongly recommend reading it. This is
a standalone with an HEA. There are scenes that could disturbing to some
readers. It will be worth your time and money. I think they have
created a masterpiece and it would make a fantastic movie.

Pacing back and forth in the lobby, rage
pumps through my veins as I try to think about who could have done this. This
obviously has to do with Jamal and the shooting, but why target Liv? Why not
Walt? Unless this was their way at getting back at him, by hurting her.
Either way it will be their last fucking
mistake.
My stomach twists into a tight knot when
I see Walter rushing through the automatic door.
“Where is she?” he shouts, his voice
filled with panic as his eyes shift everywhere until he sees me. “Where’s my
granddaughter?”
I blow out a heavy breath and head toward
him. “Walter, listen—”
He stops cold, his chest heaving as his
eyes scan my body. “What the hell is all that?” He points at my chest. “Is
that…her blood?”
I look down at my white undershirt to see
it stained red.
Fuck.
“It’s hers, isn’t it?” he asks again,
looking for confirmation.
“Walter, let’s take a seat.”
“I will not have a goddamn seat. I wanna
see my Livy, and I want someone to tell me what the fuck happened to her, right
now!” he bellows, his body quaking with anger.
Everyone swings their sympathetic eyes to
us, three of the nurses crying. I stare back at him and search for the words to
tell him.
“Walt.” I start but trail off.
How the fuck do I tell him this?
“No,” he whispers, shaking his head in
denial. “Please tell me they didn’t hurt her. Please tell me they didn’t hurt
my baby, that this isn’t because of me.” His voice sounds as broken as he
looks.

K.C. Lynn is a small town girl living in Western Canada. She married her high school sweetheart and they have four amazing children: two lovely girls and a set of handsome twin boys. It was her love for romance books that gave K.C. the courage to sit down and write her own novel.
