Right from the moment I opened the story,
I found that it was a unique story. One that in my reading travels, I have to
admit, I haven’t read a lot of. I’m sure they exist out there in the book
world, but up until now I can’t say I’ve read anything quite like it.
What I found the more I read was that not
only was it unique, but it was incredibly enjoyable.
You hear stories all the time of runaway
brides and grooms, but what do you do when your fiancé runs away with the bride
to be of another? Well, for Eli and Gwen, you go from being enemies due to the
circumstances and the pain that comes from the situation, to two people
commiserating, straight into friendship and tripping into love.
With limited drama, but a few well-placed
speed bumps along the way, just the way one would expect in any type of
relationship, the story of these two unlikely people coming together and
finding in one another what they’d only assumed to have had with the ones that
came before, was nothing short of extraordinary.
It had humor, emotion, heart and most of
all, growth from both characters. Which for this reader is a combination that
works. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future as so far,
every book that I’ve read from her brings something different and new to the
table and I’m intrigued where she plans on taking her readers next.
My thanks to the author and all others
involved in letting me read an ARC of this before official release. The journey
between Eli and Gwen definitely one that I’m glad I was a part of.
