I was lucky enough to win an ARC of a highly anticipated book from this awesome author.  

This is my 5 star review.

For millions of people, living with a mental illness it's a struggle each and every day and a great challenge.  Mental issues are not always well understood.  Society frowns on what's called different from the normal behaviour.  But what's normal?  People with a mental illness often live in isolation.

  

This story is different from what I've read and I love different.  I admire an author who is not afraid to write about difficult subjects.  Lisa brought me into this story by really creating great characters with well-defined emotions and feelings.  So much that I kind of felt what they were feeling.

This is a story about Phe who sees herself with no future.  She's at the lowest point of her life.  Desperation is her only companion.  She has a low self-esteem, afraid of living. In a moment of desperation, she wants to end her life.  But then she meets Guy who makes her want to live again.  He brings back her self-confidence, hope and a future.  He teaches her how to live again at its fullest through a bucket list that they check off together.

Guy his a sweet, loving, happy and full of life kind of man.  But underneath all that he has demons of his own to battle.  He does not let Phe in.  Together they will find a way to cope with their inner demons and move on from their troubled past.  They will struggle together and come out victorious.  

People living with a mental illness need a strong support system.  Lisa brings that in this book.  As a health care worker, I know what she wrote was realistic and happens daily for millions of people.  Lisa did her research on how to go about this book.  This story kept me intrigued and wanting to read this book.   I love an author who can keep the suspense till the end.  I love to guess and form theories, that later proves me wrong or surprises me.  Very well written.  

I highly recommend this book.  This book is a standalone with an HEA and no cliff-hanger.  This book deals with mental illnesses.  I also recommend Lisa Swallows previous published books.
